Obviously I've been slacking again on the blog, but um...has anyone noticed it's Spring! No time to be stuck inside. It's true that I'm lucky enough not to be chained to a desk from 9 to 5, but that will soon change. When it does, I will make every effort to stick it to the man and blog away while I'm on the clock.
Another reason I haven't been keeping up with blogging is because of the hot-ass female whose eyeball is pictured to the left. Not only is she beautiful, smart, and talented, but she's just weird enough to make me feel not so weird about all of my weirdness. Awesome. So I try to make out with her as much as possible, which is way more fun than being on the computer.
Last Friday I had what I consider to be my first real music gig. I opened for Kier & Dan and Shanisy at Don Pablos in Laurel for Cinco de Mayo. I played for a little over an hour, which involved learning at lot more songs than I knew a few weeks ago. It was a good challenge to get my shit together and put together a decent set of music. Sometimes you need to be under the gun to get things accomplished. Although I had a cold for the entire week leading up to the show and had trouble singing with the big snot bubbles in my sinuses, I managed to get through it ok and not have any major screw ups. A special thanks to the WSSC happy hour crew at the large table next to me; they sang along with some songs, dropped some money in the tip bucket, and the women all had me sign their boobs. Totally embarassing, but really funny. Thanks, Lia, for not getting annoyed, but there's no way I'm missing my first opportunity to autograph some 40-something boobs...so hot!!! And thanks so much to Kieran, Dan, Isy, & Shannon for giving me the opportunity to play.
