Home Inspection Photos

Home InspectionI had my home inspection today and all went well. Some things were better than I thought and some were worse. Overall it seems that the place is in good condition, only needing some cosmetic fixes (well, lots of cosmetic fixes) and about $5,000 in more immediate fixes, including the AC unit and some plumbing stuff. Not bad for paying around $45,000 below the average value of comparable homes.

The guy who did my home inspection was really great. If you're in the Washington metro area, I highly recommend him. No website, but his name is Charles Hayes of Faro Systems, Inc. (301-657-8420). Oh, and since I forgot to mention it, my super-cool real estate agent is Lori Hecox with RE/MAX. She's a great agent - very direct and honest, but fun and friendly too.

I took a bunch of pics today with my new digital camera during the home inspection. Check 'em out here. The inside of this place is straight out of 1967, including the furniture, rugs, curtains, cigarette smoke smell, and bathroom stains. Kinda gross, but I can't wait to start renovating.

Thank God for digital photography !! Did I see 4 baths,or where there duplicates?
Thats a big first house. The yard looks big also. I can see a shed, larger deck massive landscaping of flowers trees, water garden......have i spent enough of your money yet? And I haven't started inside yet !
I like the basic layout. how did the inspection go? I guess they'll mail you the results. It looks like around a 30 /35 year old place, which isn't bad. It also looks as if alot of things have been done by previous owners. When can I come up to see it? And the most important question - which room is mine? kudos :) - Dad
P.s. - I just read the forward to the pics which answered some of my questions. Only me would write before i read.....

Hiya!

I LOVVVEE IT! Did I say I love it? The yard is my fav. You've never had that big of a yard all your own. I can see a couple of retrievers back there?!?!?! I'm so excited for you! I love the layout. What is the history on the place? Is it, or was it, inhabited by an old person? How many owners did it have?

Its so cute and perfect for you. Huge too!! How many bedrooms? I'm probably doing the same thing dad did and asking questions before I read....let me just get back to reading. I miss ya!!!!
