For those of you who own a home and are all domesticated and stuff, it's a well known fact that there's no shortage of crap you can buy for the home. And companies are ready to sell you stuff at every stage of the home buying/fixing/living experience. Right now I'm at the stage where I haven't moved in, but my head is swirling with ideas about what walls I'm going to bust holes through first, what faux painting technique I'm going to use in the living room, where I'm going to position the hot tub on the new deck, etc. And trust me on this: there's about 100 books and magazines that address each minute detail of home renovation, improvement, and decorating. Anyone considering buying a new home should figure in their monthly budget at least a small amount to cover impulsive book and magazine purchases. Those companies wanting to sell you paint and tools and lumber and tiles...they're smart. Very smart. I can see buying crap like this constantly and loving it.
