My dog, Bodie, jumped up on my bed this morning and I was too half-asleep and tired to push him off. He got all stretched out right next to me and nuzzled up to my neck with his rib cage pressed up against mine. He can be really cute that way. But then I noticed something strange: he was synchronizing his breathing with mine. I wasn't sure at first, so I started holding my breath or breathing a little faster now and then. Sure enough, he would adjust his breathing to match mine! He did this for a solid three minutes or so. Aside from being the cutest thing ever, I thought it was so amazing that he could make up a little game like that. These are the moments that make me so glad I have him.
